Live Longer For Your Kids’ Sake

Not everyone of us is given the opportunity to be a dad to someone. But if we are a dad, what are we doing to make sure we don’t add to the chances of depriving our kids the opportunity to live their lives with a dad?

As I was driving to work today, I just realized that I have four (4) kids 10 years old and younger and there may be a possiblity that I may not see them grow up. And that would be just sad, both for me and for them.

So I am here to ask you, what steps are you taking as a father/mother to make sure you are contributing to your own life to help you live longer for your kids?

    I prefer working night shifts so I can attend to my kids needs in the morning but it had badly affected my health lalo noong gusto ko andun ako lagi sa activities nila. I have 3 daughters pala, 16, 11 and 6. So what I do now is to make sure I am engaged with them right after work tapos pag 12 nn to 6, dapat natutulog na ako or tulog muna tapos sasamahan ko sila. Basta I make sure I can have at least 5 hrs of sleep on busy days. If hindi na kaya, i delegate some tasks na. Learn to ask help when needed. Sa food naman, I advocate on food as medicine. Medyo mahal at maeffort mamili pero kaya naman. On mental health, I am trying to be as cool as you are to your kids. Ayokong mag impose ng gusto ko lang, basta I don't see no harm with their choices, ok lang ako. Ayoko silang mapressure at ayoko ding madisappoint kaya kung ano ang gusto nila, they have my support. Win-win lang lagi.
