Are Your Child's Friends Treating Them Right? Teaching Self-Value and Respect

It's tough as a parent to see your child hoping for friends who don't seem to care as much. I had to tell my daughter that she should focus on the friends who do make an effort to talk to her. I explained that it's important to know her own value and to respect herself. I said that she should give more importance to the people who show they care about her.

I also told her that if those other kids do decide to reach out, she should be friendly, but she shouldn't keep trying so hard to be friends with them if they don't seem interested. It's important for her to understand that she deserves friends who appreciate her too.

I’m curious to know… what would you do?
